A Thank You From Serbia

Dear Pastor Greg, Thank you! Your ministry has been a blessing! I am a 23 year old guy from Serbia (Europe). I attended a Bible school for a year in Basel, Switzerland and went to church there. And that’s where I was first introduced to your sermons by Pastor Manuel Schmid. I became follower of Christ when I was 15 and the church I went to was very strict and had a strict theology (you had to believe what you were told by the pastor in order to stay in church). And I didn’t mind it since I knew nothing…

No More Hiding

Hey Greg Boyd/ReKnew team! I wanted to sincerely thank you for this website, Greg’s books, and for the Woodland Hill’s sermons. My husband and I have grown up in the conservative Christian church. Our churches had good intentions, but did express to us that asking the “tough” questions was sinful and would reveal our true hearts as being impure. We have spent our whole lives being anxious skeptics in hiding, and we found some amount of pseudo-peace in hiding in our skepticism together through our marriage. My husband and I started getting serious about our doubts a few years ago…

From Podritioner to Missionary

Hey Pastor Boyd, My name is Nathanael. I am 22 years old and I am from the great state of Michigan (Midwest is best!). I just wanted to thank you so much for your ministry. I grew up in the church, and always have struggled with the violent depictions of God in the Old Testament compared to the beauty of Jesus in the New Testament, with the patriotism and militarism that was so infused with Jesus in my church upbringing, and many other things that resulted in me wavering in my faith over the years. I’ve been a “pod-ritioner” now…

What Love Looks Like

Greg, I thought you would like to see this picture. My 17 year old daughter went to prom 2 weeks ago. She goes to the nursing home on her own 1 to 2 times per week to play bingo and has made many friends. She went to the nursing home before prom to visit her friends. This picture was taken and when I saw it I cried because I saw Jesus. Your ministry is touching a young generation who is getting what love is!

Back to Faith

Hello, I read Letters From A Skeptic and God At War in the late 1990’s or early 2000.  Just this month I am completing Satan And The Problem of Evil. After years of being a bible study/small group leader and leading missions trips I quit praying in 2005, became divorced in 2006 and quit going to church. Since then, I have struggled in my life and found myself becoming more and more skeptical, bitter, frustrated, unhappy, discontent and being frustrated if not angry with the God of the OT and NT. Arrogance on my part. I confess sins of pride, envy, covetousness, judgment, deceit, self-deception.…

Peace Regardless

My oldest son (middle child), who just finished his first year of Divinity School at Harding School of Theology, recently turned me on to Dr. Greg Boyd as an author and theologian. I am a simpleton attorney in Chattanooga, Tennessee who was raised in a very very very very conservative church of Christ. Anyway, I am really writing this email just to say thank you for the ReKnew website. Further, I want to express an even greater appreciation for Dr. Boyd’s book “The Myth of a Christian Nation”.  While I have not spent one day of higher education in any Biblical study, I…

Thankful for Resources

Thank you for all the insight you’ve offered through your sermons, Q&A times, books, and website. I don’t think I can adequately express how glad I am to have access to all these resources. Though we’ve never met, through these media, you’ve played a major role in my personal transformation from being a reluctant follower of Christ when I was suffering from the cognitive dissonance and fundamental mistrust of God that can result from experiencing an open reality where I was constantly making choices but simultaneously believing that God was ultimately responsible for EVERY “choice” and EVERY evil into the…

Reasons to Believe

Dear Greg, So I was recently going through old theology and religious books I haven’t finished reading (that would be pretty much all of them…) and I came across Letters from a Skeptic. This in turn led to me googling Dr. Boyd and eventually led to the ReKnew website and the Woodland Hills podcast. I’m able to listen on the drive to and from work and it’s been life changing. In short, Thank God for you. I recently spent a week in Vermont with my brothers and instead of sitting through rants about religion and all its evils (of which…

New Believer

Dear Dr. Boyd I just wanted to thank you for the way “Benefit of the doubt” has helped me. I am rather new to God, having been given my faith only a few years ago. I am also too tired by my work to have the energy for much abstruse theology. Your book has helped me so much because it has concrete specific examples I can relate to, and use in my life. Blessings and thanks; Virginia

Found in Translation – Erich

Erich Salzmann is someone that we were so glad to finally meet in Europe. He has a heart for spreading the love of God that has touched us deeply. He has worked tirelessly translating Greg’s sermons and books so that as many people as possible can benefit from his theology. Thank you Erich!!! For those of you who might be interested, he posts his Russian work here and his German work here. If you want to know more about Erich and his family, or subscribe for their newsletter in English or German, you can visit their own website here. Erich and his…

Dear Gaby

Gaby is an amazing woman we met during Greg’s trip to Europe last summer. We were honored to be able to capture her story. Her health is deteriorating quite badly and we would love for everyone at ReKnew to be praying for her and her family. Greg was able to Skype with Gaby recently and we included this video in our newsletter last month. We hope it ministers to anyone who might be suffering in this way.

Gratitude: Daniel

For Thanksgiving, we wanted to share a video testimony that we collected while Greg was in Europe. We are humbled and grateful for what God is doing through this ministry!
