Calling all ReKnew friends in D.C.!
A member of our board (Joel Pilger) is developing a video for ReKnew and he needs some volunteers this Saturday. Here’s what he had to say:
I’ll be shooting in DC this Saturday morning. I need a few ReKnew fans and/or supporters that would be willing to appear on camera holding up Manifesto statements.Who am I looking for specifically? CHARACTERS! Meaning, people that stand out visually / are not generic. For example, just imagine something like:
- An older black couple standing on the steps of the Capitol, holding up signs:
- “DON’T CONFUSE THE KINGDOM OF GOD”
- “WITH THE KINGDOM OF THE WORLD”
- Several skateboarders standing in front of a picket line of angry protesters, holding up signs:
- “GET YOUR LIFE FROM CHRIST”
- “NOT FROM THE RIGHTNESS OF YOUR BELIEFS”
These are just examples. I’m open to suggestions / alternatives / ideas.

Reflecting on Henry and the Heart of God
Several years ago Jessica and Ian had their theology revolutionized by coming in contact with the vision of God and the warfare worldview that ReKnew ministries stands for. Tragically, this last September this wonderful couple learned that their precious 4-year-old son Henry had a massive brain tumor and that he had only months to live.…
Sermon Clip: Marshmallow Advent
In last weekend’s sermon, Greg tells us about Dietrich Bonhoeffer’s writings on advent, and how getting in touch with our emptiness through silence and solitude can lead to peace. This short clip explains advent and the advantages of delayed gratification. You can download the entire sermon as well as other sermon resources by visiting the…
Introduction to ReKnew
There’s never been anyone like Jesus. Not even close. And yet, there’s no greater disconnect in history than the chasm between Jesus and many who claim his name. If you’re like most thinking people, you’re frustrated by that. Or disappointed. The inconsistencies are rampant. Or maybe you’ve recently faced a horrific tragedy and your seemingly…
One Word
While I’ve lately been pretty distracted finishing up Benefit of the Doubt (Baker, 2013), my goal is to sprinkle in posts that comment on the distinctive commitments of ReKnew a couple of times a week. I’m presently sharing some thoughts on the second conviction of ReKnew, which is that Jesus Christ is the full and…
Reflections on the Supremacy of Christ (Part 1)
In my previous post I argued that the Bible tells a story in which the culminating event – the coming of Christ – reframes everything that preceded it. Though it is all inspired, not everything in it should carry equal weight for us. Rather, everything leading up to Christ, including the portraits of God, must…
Drum Roll Please: Greg’s Final Critique of Bart Ehrman’s Article
This is the ninth and final of several videos Greg put together to refute Bart Ehrman’s claims published in the article What Do We Really Know About Jesus? Thanks for hanging in there for this last one. I know it was a long wait, but the holidays got inordinately busy for Greg. In this segment, Greg talks…
